　　fetch = go somewhere and bring sth./ sb. back    到別處去取回或把人請來

　　fetch sb. sth.= fetch sth. for sb.   為某人取某物

　　eg.  Could you fetch me some chalk？ = Could you fetch some chalk for me？

　　Have you fetched the doctor？

　　*bring  指從別處把某人（物）帶來（拿來）。

　　take   指拿去；帶去”。與bring相反。

　　fetch  指到別處去取回或把人請來

　　carry  指搬動較重的物體，無方向性。

　　eg. Bring me today’s newspaper， please. 請幫我把今天的報紙拿來。

　　Take this book to my office. 把這本書拿到我的辦公室去。

　　Please fetch a doctor for Lao Li. 請為老李請一位醫(yī)生來。

　　Students often help the old man carry water. 學(xué)生們經(jīng)常幫那位老人提水。

　　2. It (The Yellow River) is the second longest river in China. 它（黃河）是中國的第二長河。

　　“ the +序數(shù)詞+形容詞最高級+可數(shù)名詞單數(shù)”， 表示“第幾……的”。如：

　　I think computer is the first most useful tool of all. 我想電腦是所有工具中最有用的。

　　The second most important thing is to come here by yourself. 第二重要的事是你自己來到這兒。

　　3. It goes through nine provinces and finally joins the Bohai Sea. 它流經(jīng)九個省份，最終匯入渤海灣。

　　go through  “穿過；通過”，指通過兩邊，相當(dāng)于一條直線

　　go across   “穿過；橫穿”，指從這邊到那邊，相當(dāng)于一條線段

　　eg.  go through the street （豎）穿過街道

　　go across the street  = cross the street  （橫）過馬路

　　4. be known/famous as… “作為……而出名”

　　be known/famous for… “因……而出名”

　　be known to…         “為……所熟知”

　　eg. Yao Ming is known/famous as a basketball player. 姚明作為一名藍(lán)球運(yùn)動員而出名.

　　West Lake is known/famous for its beautiful scenery. 西湖因秀麗的景色而出名.

　　Beijing is known to all the people in the world because of the 2008 Olympic Games.

　　北京因?yàn)?008年奧運(yùn)會而為全世界人民所熟知.

　　四．重點(diǎn)語法

　　定語從句： 在復(fù)合句中，修飾某一名詞或代詞的從句。而被修飾的名詞或代詞被稱為先行詞。

　　定語從句放在先行詞的后面，由關(guān)系代詞或關(guān)系副詞引導(dǎo)。

　　常見的關(guān)系代詞有：

　　that               指代“人或物”

　　which             指代“物”

　　who/ whom         指代“人”

　　whose             指代“某人的”

　　l 關(guān)系代詞在從句作主語或賓語； whose作定語。作賓語時關(guān)系代詞可省略。

　　本話題中出現(xiàn)以下定語從句：

　　China is a big country that has about 5，000 years of history.

　　中國是一個擁有約五千年歷史的大國。

　　That’s all (that) I know. 那是我所知道的全部。

　　It’s a book which introduces China in detail. 它是一本詳細(xì)介紹中國的書。

　　It’s Mount Tai that/ which lies in Shandong Province.

　　它是位于山東省境內(nèi)的泰山。

　　That’s the most fantastic place (that) I have ever heard of.

　　那是我曾聽說過的最神奇的地方。

　　West Lake which lies in Hangzhou is one of the most famous lakes in China.

　　位于杭州市的西湖是中國最著名的湖泊之一。

　　There are three beautiful places which shouldn’t be missed by visitors to China.
